ABOUT US

Consuela Whitfield, BSHM, MMT, LMT, CPT

Consuela has always had a passion for nurturing others and helping them heal and have a better quality of life through her love for health, wellness, and fitness. Consuela is a former track and field athlete, gymnast, so injury prevention and keeping the muscles flexible and healthy is an important element in her and her family's lifestyle.

Consuela attended the University of Cincinnati to study nursing, and has a degree in health management. She moved to Atlanta to attend chiropractic school, but after accreditation issues, switched to massage therapy. She obtained her massage certifications from the Atlanta School of Massage in 1998 with concentrations in clinical massage and neuromuscular therapy. She also studied Dr. Vodders techniques for lymphatic drainage massage. During her education, she tutored physiology and biophysics, as well as anatomy and physiology. She absolutely loves the science of the body and all of its intricate and wondrous connections.

Today, she currently writes for eHow.com and LiveSTRONG.com, teaches anatomy and physiology, as well as massage skills at Georgia Career Institute, and works with many people ranging from stay-at- home moms to professional athletes. Education is very important to her, and she is constantly seeking ways to stay abreast in her massage career. She has recently completed classes in stretch therapy, myofascial release, and reiki, to name a few, and she is excited to expand her mobile practice and utilize her talent to help others feel better, heal faster, improve their health, while broadening her scope of practice.
